Olive harvesting is well underway and the age-old sound “thwack, thwack" reverberates across the island as locals, armed with long sticks rhythmically beat olive branches until they drop their fruit onto a carpet of nets.  The recent bad weather has delayed many commencing harvest, lets hope that the new year brings finer weather.
