Zakynthian winters on the whole are marvellously mild to moderate though the weather can dramatically change during the course of a single day. Clear bright sunny mornings can give way to wild evening storms. Crashing waves break over vast expanses of empty beaches cloaked under dark moody skies. Mist shrouded landscapes stand in silence for days on end. These photographs capture an island transformed by weather. They are supplied courtesy of Dionysis Fournogerakis
